“I felt that while I have many sarees to wear, I also have many stories to share, for which I had never found the time before. Rather than being stressed and depressed because of the uncertainty the lockdown imposed on everyone, I wanted to turn it into an opportunity.”
The Entre-pun-eur Initiative by Sirohi is a one of its kind virtual chat with some of our favourites from the business industry spanning over environmental, fashion, lifestyle, tech and more areas! In this, we get into a one-on-one discussion with them to learn about their journey in starting their own venture- not merely the technical challenges but all the fun they had in this experience- the puntastic experience of being an entrepreneur!
Introducing the first session from this series, we bring to you Jyotsna Grover Sethi.

Jyotsna says hello!
Anyone who has known me for a while, will know that I am a fairly recent convert to sarees. I spent a major part of the adult years of my life living in jeans and tees at home and business suits at work.
My personal journey in the last five years has been a journey of self discovery, along with a journey of discovering some of the treasures of sarees that abound in all parts of our country. And it all started with the #100sareepact in 2015
Professionally, as I advanced in my career in an international organisation, wearing sarees at work helped me to establish my Indian identity.
Her Journey So Far
I started posting regularly on Instagram since the lockdown began. Being a lover of sarees and someone who has travelled quite a bit to saree weaving clusters around India, I felt that while I have many sarees to wear, I also have many stories to share, for which I had never found the time before. Rather than being stressed and depressed because of the uncertainty the lockdown imposed on everyone, I wanted to turn it into an opportunity.
So I wrote a little story about each one of the sarees I wore and started posting pictures and my stories on Instagram everyday and until you reached out to me, I didn’t even know I was an influencer!
To convey the significance of her experience with all forms of the Indian saree, she tells us, “It's always your saree that carries you, not the other way around.”
